Ideal Weight Calculator by Height

There's no single ideal weight — there's a range. This tool gives you four classic formula estimates plus the BMI-based healthy window.

The four formulas differ slightly; their average is the best reference point.

Why four formulas, not one

Each formula was built for a different purpose and era, and they can differ by 5-8 kg. Their average is a better reference point than any single one.

Weight isn't the real goal

Two people at the same height and weight can look completely different depending on muscle and fat. If you lift, track measurements, body fat and the mirror more than the scale.

Getting into the healthy range

If you're within 10 kg of the healthy range, a 400 kcal daily deficit is enough. Beyond that, split the journey into 8-10 kg blocks with two-week maintenance breaks to protect metabolic rate.

FAQ

What's the ideal weight for 170 cm?

For men, roughly 65-68 kg as a formula average, with a healthy BMI range of about 53-72 kg. For women the average sits about 4 kg lower.

Does age change ideal weight?

The formulas ignore age, but muscle mass declines over time — so protecting muscle with resistance training matters more than chasing a number.

How long will it take to get there?

A safe rate is 0.5-1 kg a week, so 10 kg takes 10-20 weeks with consistent calories and training.
